Most students will leave with a finished project.

Class Description:

Students will begin with a pre-dyed gourd (approximately 5″ to 6″). First thing to do will be to draw the basic design on the gourd. These lines will then be carved. This will be followed by wood burning a simple pattern along the top of the gourd. Dimples will be added in the wood burned areas with a small ball burr for seed beads. The seed beads will then be glued into the dimples. This will be followed by slip stitching raffia to the rim and finishing the gourd with shell buttons.
